Actor Nicholas Brendon — star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" — has died

The actor died at the age of 54.

The actor's death became known today, March 21.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon," read a message posted by the deceased’s family on social media.

The post also specified that the man died in his sleep of natural causes. This same information also appeared on the star's official page.

Brendon starred in the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," where he played Xander.

His friends and devoted fans are actively expressing their condolences in the comments.

"This is heartbreaking! You will be forever missed"; "I named my son Xander after his character. Rest in peace, Nicholas"; "No! I can’t believe this," fans say.
