The scheme was organized by the former director of a local plant, which is currently undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. An automated line was discovered at the enterprise, where about 20 hired workers, without medical certificates, worked in two shifts.
Plastic bottles were produced directly on site, while caps and labels were brought from another region. To cover their tracks, the bottles indicated that the drink was produced in Belarus, Georgia, or Azerbaijan.
In total, law enforcement officers confiscated 38 thousand ready two-liter bottles, and another 11 thousand units of goods were found in trucks that were supposed to deliver the soda to Moscow.
