US President Donald Trump, during a conversation with reporters at the White House, stated that the US is negotiating with Iran to stop hostilities. According to him, the American administration is in contact with "the right people" in Iran, and they are allegedly very interested in concluding a deal, writes Reuters.

Trump emphasized that the Iranian side is ready to agree and "very strongly" wants to do so.
"We are negotiating with the right people, and they really want to make a deal, you have no idea how much they want it," the American leader assured, referring to the Iranians.
He also reported that Iran has already made a significant concession to the US in the energy sector. Although details were not disclosed, it likely refers to the situation around the Strait of Hormuz — a key route for oil and gas supplies from the Persian Gulf, which Iran effectively blocked after the start of military actions against it.
Trump called this step a "generous gift" that has great economic significance and is not related to nuclear energy.
However, he did not specify when the next rounds of negotiations might take place or whether his representatives would participate. It is known that some countries, such as Pakistan, have already expressed readiness to host the meetings.
According to unofficial data, negotiations began after secret contacts between the US and Iran through intermediaries. A significant moment could have been a phone call between the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry and a US representative, after which Trump decided to temporarily halt strikes on Iran's energy facilities and move to dialogue.
However, Iran officially denies the fact of such negotiations.
