Employees of the Railway Protection Service and police detained a 29-year-old citizen of Belarus in Gdańsk on the night of December 14-15. His nighttime walk seemed suspicious to the police. It is alleged that the man was illegally in Poland. The Internal Security Agency (ABW) took over the case.
It all started when a freight train driver noticed a suspicious man standing near an electricity pole on one of the railway lines, Fakt writes.
This was reported to the traffic controller, who forwarded the matter to the Regional Command of the Railway Protection Service in Gdańsk.
A patrol consisting of employees of the Railway Protection Service and police was dispatched to the scene. They found a man walking along the tracks.
As it turned out later, the detainee is a 29-year-old citizen of Belarus. He claimed that he was walking along the tracks from Gdańsk Orunia to the city center. But the version of an ordinary nighttime walk seemed suspicious to the police, considering the serious railway incidents that occurred in Poland this autumn.
The detained man aroused the suspicion of the services. It was established on the spot that he was illegally in Poland. In this situation, law enforcement officers informed the Gdańsk delegation of the Internal Security Agency (ABW), which took over further actions on this case.
