Pazniak on the death of Melkazyarau: "As what is best - is lost. As what is worst - multiplies"
Zianon Pazniak, a veteran of the Belarusian movement, published a short post on his Facebook page in memory of journalist Nikita Melkazyarau, who unexpectedly passed away on the night of December 20-21.

"Sincere sorrow for the unexpected death of Mikita Melkazyarau. This is a man who, in a cursed time, became capable for Belarus, helping it with his Belarusian word, zeal, and talent. He influenced a part of the people, primarily young ones, whom the meanings of other reflections did not reach.
It's a pity. A great pity. One does not expect death at 37 years old. But here it struck. We, Belarusians, are so unlucky. As what is best - is lost. As what is worst - multiplies.
Eternal memory to a good Belarusian. May others continue his lively Belarusian path," wrote Zianon Pazniak.
