According to the hackers' statement, posted on the Anna's Archive blog, they managed to gain access to approximately 86 million music tracks, as well as 256 million lines of metadata. They claim they plan to distribute the obtained audio files via torrent networks.
Spotify confirmed that a metadata leak occurred and acknowledged that the attackers indeed managed to access part of the platform's audio files.
Today, Spotify is one of the largest audio services in the world: its library contains over 100 million music compositions, about seven million podcasts, and approximately 350 thousand audiobooks.
