Vadanоsava: Failed to solve bureaucratic problem related to mother's insurance
Katsiaryna Vadanоsava said that her mother Nelli has begun agony.
«My mother is in agony now. Her kidneys have already failed. Convulsions. I was with her as long as they allowed. They sent me home. You can't be there at night.
Now it's a matter of hours. A maximum of twenty-four hours. Today [on Monday] I cried a lot, and couldn't hold back at home either.
I finally told Yan [my son] what awaits us. I was very afraid of how he would take it. He's holding up more or less for now. With varying success. Stefa has been aware from the beginning. She's also holding up. Vasil replaced me on the phone in the afternoon, dealing with insurance issues. Nothing came of it. It's a bureaucratic trap. We'll fight on, of course. Post-factum. Postmortem. Many thanks to everyone who helped. The collection has been made, but not closed. I still don't know the amount of the bill they will issue me. I'll find out and tell you,» — Katsiaryna wrote on Facebook yesterday evening.
On December 23, Katsiaryna's mother suffered a stroke in Warsaw. Doctors promptly arrived, took her to the hospital, and performed an operation. However, it turned out that the Office for Foreigners had not entered the elderly woman into the database of insured persons, and it was impossible to verify this circumstance during the long weekend.
Katsiaryna then expressed concern that the bill for the operation and other medical procedures could amount to tens or hundreds of thousands of zlotys. Katsiaryna's mother was also in a very bad condition, connected to machines, and it was not ruled out that she might die.
After Vadanоsava wrote this post, information appeared on the "Bysol" website about a charity collection for €15,000, which was collected in two and a half days.
On Sunday, Katsiaryna wrote that she would be dealing with bureaucratic issues.
«I also need to get a medical certificate to give it to the lawyer, who will first go to court, then to the Office for Refugee Affairs (I hope). At this time, if death doesn't befall us yet, I will go to Window to the East — an organization that helps emigrants. With their help, I will try to get an answer to why my mother is not identified as an insured person in Petromedica, and how to change this, because by law she must be covered. Somewhere along the way, the bureaucratic machine stalled, which, among other things, led to the point where we are now,» — she wrote.
