The cargo was detained at the border in the Pskov region. During the inspection, it was revealed that the meat products lacked the necessary documents confirming their safety and origin. Furthermore, a violation of veterinary and sanitary rules was established: the sausage was transported without refrigeration equipment, despite requiring a strict temperature regime.
Due to these violations, the cargo was deemed unfit for movement within the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. As a result, a return act was drawn up, and the entire batch of sausage was sent back to Belarus.
In 2025, the Northwestern Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor recorded 36 similar cases of illegal import of animal products. The total mass of goods returned to Belarus exceeded 50 tons.
