A sculpture of a half-naked armwrestler was installed in the historical center of Mogilev
A new art object, a sculpture of an armwrestler athlete, has appeared on Leninskaya pedestrian street in Mogilev. The muscular man, wearing only briefs, is located next to a historical Orthodox center.

The sculpture was installed just before the New Year 2026 as part of ongoing work to improve the historical center. According to the concept, the bronze athlete leans his elbow on a small table, as if inviting passers-by to arm wrestle with him.
It is not explained whether this image symbolizes any specific person or event. The choice of such a character for the historical core of the city looks quite strange.

The sculpture is located in close proximity to the Bishop's Compound and the territory of the former Spassky Monastery. Currently, the Mogilev Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the Spiritual and Educational Center named after St. George Konissky are located here. Why an armwrestler appeared specifically next to these spiritual objects remains a mystery.
It should be noted that several art objects have already been installed on this section of Leninskaya Street, from Slavy Square to Boldina Street, but most of them have a musical theme, as they are located near the music school building. The new sculpture clearly stands out from this series.
