Z-blogger unexpectedly called Putin illegitimate and urged to put him on trial
Russian pro-government blogger and author of denunciations, Ilya Remeslo, unexpectedly criticized Vladimir Putin. He called Putin an illegitimate president and urged to try him as a "war criminal and thief". In his Telegram posts, Remeslo explained why he became disillusioned with Russia's current government, writes The Moscow Times.

Ilya Remeslo listed six main reasons for his dissatisfaction: the war with Ukraine, censorship in media and the internet, unlimited presidential terms, disrespect for citizens, pursuit of luxury, and failure to fulfill promises.
For some reason, Remeslo was particularly outraged that Putin in 2017 promised not to follow the Chinese path, but did not keep his word.
The blogger stated that Putin could have improved people's lives but chose the path of personal enrichment and that of his friends. Previously, Ilya Remeslo moderately criticized Putin's policies and avoided open attacks, but now believes that there is no stability in the country: frequent drone attacks and internet restrictions.
He also accused the leadership of the presidential administration, particularly its first deputy head Sergei Kiriyenko, of organizing the discrediting of the opposition. Remeslo questioned the benefit to Russians of the occupied territories of Ukraine, noting that they are burdened with high costs for restoration.
The blogger confirmed that he cooperated with the presidential administration and had financial relations with it, but many of his proposed ideas were not implemented as he suggested. He noted that he is ready for any consequences of his statements, including trial, and hopes that they will prove the truth to Putin.
Lawyers note that Remeslo's posts are carefully worded and do not contain direct calls, but they could become a basis for him to be recognized as a foreign agent.
Remeslo is known as a blogger, "lawyer," and "investigator" who gained prominence even before the war thanks to his fight against Alexei Navalny. He repeatedly filed denunciations against the Russian opposition and participated in lawsuits against bloggers and publicists, including the case regarding donations for Navalny's 2017 campaign.
