Member of the famous rap group "Niestandartny Varyjant" dies

The death of Aliaksandr Shaliahin was announced on Instagram by another member of the Barysaŭ-based group, Dzmitry Mikhnevich.

«One of those who was always behind the scenes, but without whom much simply wouldn't have sounded.

It was Sasha who wrote the music for the songs "Not the Last Word", "Different Fates", "They See Evil", "Travel Card", "Dog" and other works by "Niestandartny Varyjant". His name was rarely on posters, but his sound was known and felt by many.

He didn't seek attention, didn't play to the crowd — he simply did his work honestly and precisely. And now, in these tracks, his voice, his rhythm, his time remain forever," wrote Dzmitry Mikhnevich.

The group "Niestandartny Varyjant" was formed in the autumn of 1998 in Barysaŭ, and their first performance took place in the Minsk club Cosmopolitan on April 8, 1999. Aliaksandr Shaliahin, or "DJ Shlag", was a member from the very beginning and left the group in 2006.

The cause of his death has not been reported.
