Brand "Glory to Russia" on the abdomen of a Ukrainian prisoner was burned by one of the surgeons in a Donetsk hospital
The brand "Glory to Russia" on the abdomen of Ukrainian prisoner of war Andriy Pereverzev was made during an operation in the largest hospital in Donbas — the "Donetsk Clinical Territorial Medical Association" (DKTMA). This was discovered by Radio Svoboda's "Schemes" project.

Prisoner of war Pereverzev, who was released in May 2025 as a result of an exchange, said that before being captured by Russians, he was blown up by a grenade that ended up directly under him.
After a series of beatings and interrogations, Russian soldiers transported the AFU fighter with severe injuries to the hospital. "Schemes" established that Pereverzev ended up in DKTMA — this is evidenced by the layout of the medical facility and the view from the window, which the serviceman remembered. In addition, Pereverzev recalled that a nurse who came to him after the first dressing said: "Don't worry. You'll come home — either you'll remove it, or you'll cover it with a tattoo."
"Schemes" suggested that the inscription on the body was made by the operating surgeon. This is indicated, in particular, by the fact that the brand is quite even and was made with a medical instrument from the right side, from which a doctor usually works.
In another Donetsk hospital, where Pereverzev was transferred, nurses spoke among themselves that the brand on the prisoner's abdomen was made by a Russian doctor, the AFU fighter recalled.
That the inscription was not made by a Donetsk doctor was told to "Schemes" by Donetsk nurse Tatyana Tregulova — the one who first informed Pereverzev about the brand.
The project found out that Russian doctors from the group "Friends of Medicine of Donbas" regularly visit DKTMA. Among them is Moscow surgeon and State Duma deputy from "United Russia" Badma Bashankaev.
"Schemes" found out that on the day of Pereverzev's operation — February 24, 2024 — two Krasnodar doctors, members of the "Friends of Medicine of Donbas" group, were in the Donetsk hospital: abdominal surgeon Yury Kuznetsov and proctologist Andriy Krachko. This is evidenced by posts on their social networks and metadata of photos they published.
However, Kuznetsov, in a conversation with journalists, initially denied that he was with Krachko in DKTMA that day, and then stated that he and his colleague only delivered humanitarian aid and consulted doctors.
Who exactly — Kuznetsov or Krachko — burned the brand on Pereverzev's body, journalists could not determine.
