In Ukraine, a 72-year-old man killed five people with an axe and a hammer — all of them war displaced persons
A horrific mass murder occurred in the Rivne region of Ukraine.

Around four in the morning on February 10, a social worker called the police, reporting that her wards — people who had left their homes due to the war and were living in a former school building — heard horrific screams in the corridor.
According to the investigation, a 72-year-old native of the Donetsk region was responsible for the tragedy. A regular domestic quarrel broke out between him and other residents of the displaced persons center, which quickly escalated into a fight.

During the conflict, the pensioner grabbed a hammer and an axe and began striking the people he lived with under the same roof.
Five people died on the spot. Among the victims were two men (60 and 68 years old) and three women (56, 78, and 81 years old). All of them were displaced persons.
