Vitalina Mikhalenia is 43 years old. She is from Uzda. The woman studied at the Maladzyechna Trade and Economic College, and in 2006, she received an economist diploma from the Belarusian Trade and Economic University of Consumer Cooperatives in Gomel. She has a minor son.

Vitalina has been involved in finance her whole life. Since 2008, she worked as a chief accountant in various firms — from the "Spamash" production center to companies engaged in construction and trade. In 2013, Vitalina registered as an individual entrepreneur and became a tax consultant. In recent years, she also works as a recruiter.

Vitalina is interested in vintage items and glass. She writes on social media about legal issues and improves her professional skills.

Vitalina was tried in the Minsk City Court under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — "facilitating extremist activity." She was sentenced to home detention ("home chemistry"). The exact sentence is unknown, and the woman's persecution is related to the Hayun case.

"Belaruski Hayun" is an OSINT monitoring project that was created in 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine through Belarus. The project tracked the military activity of Russian and Belarusian troops, relying on information from Belarusians. Its activities were coordinated by a group of activists led by Anton Matolka.

The Hayun case began after security forces detained an activist who had lived underground in Belarus for several years. A link to join the Hayun bot, which had been sent to her at the very beginning of the project's existence, was found on her mobile phone. The fatal error was that the link was permanent. As a result, the security forces were able to connect to the bot and extract all information from it. They obtained messages from accounts that wrote to the bot, as well as their IDs and usernames.

The girl herself was detained because she was forced to seek help from state structures and medics. Her boyfriend, who was hiding with her, began to have serious health problems following his father's arrest.

Immediately after the hack, Hayun's founder Anton Matolka explained how the information leak occurred and announced the project's closure.
