According to the press secretary, Trump observed the start of the operation, which took place during the night for the U.S., and consulted with members of his national security team. He also held a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Additionally, before the start of the American strikes, Secretary of State Marco Rubio contacted Congressional leadership to brief them on the situation; it is noted that he managed to reach most of the recipients.
The White House stated that the President and his national security team will continue to closely monitor developments throughout the day.
Earlier, Trump announced the start of a large-scale operation against Iran; alongside the U.S., Israel also launched strikes. He also urged Iranians to seize the moment for changes in the country.
