Senator Graham: Cuba's Days Are Numbered

Senator Lindsey Graham stated that the communist regime in Cuba will soon collapse.

"Did President Donald Trump complete what President Ronald Reagan failed to do? I am a big fan of Ronald Reagan, but I must say: in my opinion, Donald Trump is the gold standard for Republicans, and possibly for any president, when it comes to foreign policy," the politician stated.

Graham noted that everyone talked about Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. But it was Donald Trump who ensured he ended up in prison.

"Next is Cuba. The communist dictatorship in Cuba will fall. Its days are numbered. The regime in Iran — the 'mother base' of international terrorism — is about to collapse. The captain of that ship, the Ayatollah, is dead — finally and irreversibly," Lindsey Graham emphasized.

Last Friday, Donald Trump, speaking to reporters, did not rule out a "friendly takeover" of Cuba.

"The Cuban government is negotiating with us. As you know, they are in big trouble. They have no money. Now they have nothing. But they are negotiating with us. And maybe we'll do a friendly takeover of Cuba," Trump said.

The US President called Cuba "a failed state, to say the least." He recounted that he heard a lot about this island in his childhood, and "everyone wanted change."

"Marco Rubio is dealing with this issue, and at a very high level. And, you know, they have no money, they have no oil, they have no food. And right now the nation is truly in a difficult position, and they need our help," he added.

After the operation in Caracas on January 3 to capture Nicolás Maduro, Trump turned his attention to Cuba, where the communist regime has been in power since 1959.

Donald Trump has repeatedly stated in recent months that Cuba "could be next," and that the island's government "is hanging by a thread" and the US has no choice but to "come in and blow the place up." In response, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel warned that the country is ready for defense.

After Donald Trump threatened Cuba with sanctions, the country faced difficulties with oil supplies and flights. Mexico, for example, suspended oil shipments. In late January, it was reported that Cuba had only two to three weeks of oil left.
