Iran's New Supreme Leader Reportedly Taken to Moscow After Injury

Help was allegedly offered personally by Vladimir Putin.

New reports have emerged in the media regarding the condition of Majtaba Khamenei, the successor to Iran's Supreme Leader. He may have been secretly evacuated to Moscow for treatment after sustaining a severe injury during a strike on Tehran, writes Bild, citing the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida.

The Kuwaiti publication claims that the operation was carried out under strict secrecy, and help was allegedly offered personally by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the newspaper's sources, Khamenei suffered serious injuries to the left side of his body after an attack on the complex housing the residence and office of the supreme leadership. He reportedly required surgery and prolonged treatment, which, according to the sources, was difficult to provide in Iran due to ongoing strikes. However, there is no official confirmation of this information.

Israeli authorities have also not disclosed information about the Iranian leader's condition or whereabouts. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, when asked by journalists, stated that he was "not going to give him life insurance."

Earlier, a short message appeared in Iranian media on behalf of Khamenei, but some sources claim that it might have been prepared by other representatives of the leadership.
