Lukashenka commented on political prisoners: "There will be no special problems"

During negotiations with the US special envoy, Lukashenka expressed his view on political prisoners.

"How can we avoid the problem that Chris (Smith) is very much controlling? The so-called political prisoners. We discussed this problem remotely, in correspondence. I think that we have largely come to a certain understanding. And the Belarusian side is ready to adhere to our agreements with you. I think there will be no special problems here," he said, and once again stated that in Belarus "there are no political articles and no political prisoners, there are offenders."
