They had been stuck on the territory of Belarus since November 2025 — until Cole arrived.

Lukashenka has made a decision allowing trucks with Lithuanian registration to leave.
Such vehicles have been on the territory of Belarus since November 2025, after Lithuania closed the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.

Currently, more than 1900 vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and semi-trailers, are located at specially equipped sites, according to Belarusian customs officials.
Vehicles with Lithuanian registration will be able to leave the territory of Belarus via the Lithuanian direction; Lithuanian vehicles actually belonging to Polish carriers will also be able to leave via the Polish direction, the State Customs Committee reports.
Customs officials add that the payment for the storage of trucks "is several times lower than previously set" — Lukashenka had earlier named a price of 120 euros per day. If the money has been paid, the vehicles can now leave.
After the visit of US Special Envoy John Cole, Alexander Lukashenka promised that the trucks would begin to be returned. The Lithuanian government never went to negotiations with Belarus on this matter.
