The USA, in negotiations with Ukraine, is demanding the withdrawal of troops from the remaining parts of Donbas that are under Kyiv's control, "Ukrainska Pravda" reports, citing sources. The latest round of negotiations between the two countries took place on March 21-22.
According to one of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team members, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Kyiv is constantly forced to dispute agreements reached by Russia and the USA at the summit in Anchorage.
"That is, no matter what we talk about, it always comes down to the Americans saying: 'Withdraw from Donbas, and we will build a paradise for you, as agreed in Alaska'," the source told the publication.
According to him, the US authorities do not see "where we can agree on the main issue," which could lead to their withdrawal from the negotiation process and focus on Iran, midterm congressional elections, and other issues.
"They are even ready for real security guarantees for us if we withdraw from Donbas. But how to implement this in Ukraine, I simply cannot imagine," he added.
