Today, Minsk woke up at night to a loud drone-like sound

Around 2 AM, it was heard in various districts of Minsk, and closer to 3 AM — in the Vitebsk region.

On the morning of March 23, residents of various Belarusian cities began massively posting on Threads about a strange sound in the sky that they heard at night. Minsk residents were the first to report it, but soon people from other places started chiming in on social media.

Many noted that they woke up around two or three in the morning.

Это вертолеты МЧС летают, проводят ночную аэросъемку тепловых сетей столицы. Мониторинг с высоты 500-600 метров для выявления тепловых аномалий (повреждений трубопроводов) с помощью специального оборудования.
