Authorities are considering changes to traffic patterns on the MKAD (Moscow Ring Road).
Traffic on the Minsk Ring Road (MKAD) is planned to be changed to improve driver comfort. These issues were discussed at a meeting of the road safety commission, reports BelTA.

First of all, the authorities intend to reconstruct some elements of the highway's infrastructure to increase its capacity. Acceleration and deceleration lanes are planned at the intersections of the MKAD (Minsk Ring Road) with Promyshlennaya Street and the traffic interchange with Svislochskaya Street.
For example, at the interchanges of MKAD - Pritytsky Street and MKAD - Independence Avenue, the distance between the exit and entry points is so small that these zones conflict with each other.
A similar situation exists on Independence Avenue from Shafarnyanskaya Street to the MKAD, where there is very little room to maneuver.
This forces drivers to make quick decisions, resulting in sudden braking and aggressive lane changes that create dangerous situations.
"In order to solve the current situation, it is proposed to introduce traffic light control in this area, forcibly separating conflicting traffic flows by using large regulation cycles," said Denis Livanovich, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee's Main Internal Affairs Directorate.
In addition, the meeting discussed the intersection of the MKAD and Lineynaya Street, where cars heading to the Dombrovka, Masyukovshchina and Kuntsevshchina microdistricts often accumulate.
The problem will be solved by an overpass over the railway along Kolesnikova Street - Timiryazeva Street. Such overpasses may soon appear in other places as well.
