American Aircraft Carrier "Abraham Lincoln" Arrives in Middle East Amidst Iranian Crisis
The U.S. Navy strike group led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has entered the Middle East region. The U.S. Central Command officially confirmed the deployment of forces, explaining the mission as the necessity to "support regional security."

This maneuver occurs against the backdrop of an internal crisis in Iran, which, according to American intelligence, has become the most extensive in the last half-century.
"The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Middle East to promote regional security and stability," the U.S. command stated.
As reported by the New York Times, citing intelligence reports presented to Donald Trump, Iranian authorities are now in their weakest position since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. A wave of protests has swept even those provinces previously considered strongholds of the Ayatollahs' regime.
The presence of the carrier group significantly reduces the Pentagon's response time: in the event of an order from the U.S. President, preparations for air strikes on Iranian territory would take no more than two days.
Parallel to the fleet maneuvers, American aviation in the region practiced rapid aircraft deployment tactics, and U.S. military personnel held unofficial consultations with Israel.
According to experts, the build-up of U.S. military presence, as well as planned naval exercises in the region, increase pressure on Iran.
In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps raised its level of combat readiness and called on Iranian-backed armed groups in Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen to support Tehran.
