A 46-year-old resident of Minsk reported that in August last year, experiencing difficulties in her family life, she turned to a fortuneteller — a 37-year-old resident of Stolbtsy. After laying out Tarot cards, the fortuneteller declared "serious problems" and offered to remove the evil eye with the help of paid rituals. The woman agreed and transferred 37 thousand rubles to the specified account, including credit money. The deception continued until December 2025.

Similarly, during the same period, a 53-year-old resident of the Stolbtsy district suffered, having found an advertisement for "removing the evil eye." The fortuneteller asked him to send photos of his face, palm, and wrist. Under her influence, the man collectively transferred 42 thousand rubles for the "services."

Employees of the cybercrime unit of the Minsk region identified the suspect and detained her. The woman spent the money received on personal needs and gambled it away in an online casino.

Investigators opened a criminal case against the woman for large-scale fraud. The offender faces up to 12 years in prison.
