At the end of January, employees of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Kastrychnitski District Department of Internal Affairs in Grodno received information that a television set was missing during an inventory check at one of the retail organizations. Where the item disappeared to was quickly ascertained .
It turned out that in the last week of December, a 25-year-old delivery service driver was transporting returned goods from a marketplace pickup point. He liked a TV that customers had not purchased, and the man decided to keep it for himself. At the warehouse, he did not unload the necessary box, and to confuse the electronic accounting system, he scanned it along with the rest of the "rejected" goods. The amount of damage caused amounted to almost 600 rubles.
However, the man did not sell the stolen TV and did not even use it. According to him, he was afraid to turn on the device, believing that it could reveal his location to law enforcement. Therefore, the device was stored at his home in its factory packaging for almost a month. However, such "conspiracy" did not help.
A criminal case has been initiated against the driver under the article "Misappropriation or Embezzlement." He faces up to four years in prison.
