Rheinmetall CEO: At this moment, we are producing more ammunition than there are contracts
Armin Papperger, CEO of the German defense concern Rheinmetall, believes that the war in Ukraine will not end in 2026. He expressed this opinion on February 16 in an interview with the Berlin media platform Table Media, as reported by Deutsche Welle.

Papperger argued his position by stating that "Russia is not interested in ending the war." In this regard, he emphasized the need for further assistance to Ukraine, noting that his company is ready to supply Kyiv with additional military equipment.
“We can help in many areas. At this moment, we are producing more ammunition than stipulated in the contracts concluded with Ukraine,” Papperger reported.
He added that in some areas, production funding for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) has not yet been secured. According to the head of Rheinmetall, the concern could supply Kyiv with more air defense guns, ammunition, and even more tanks, as well as drones.
According to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the revenue of the world's 100 largest defense companies from arms sales and military services in 2024 increased by 5.9%, reaching a record $679 billion (€572 billion). The authors attribute this, in part, to Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine.
German arms manufacturers in 2024 showed one of the most significant revenue growth figures — 36%. Only Japan saw a faster growth rate — 40%. Four German companies entered the global top 100, with Rheinmetall becoming the leader. With military sales revenue of €8.2 billion (up 47% year-on-year), it ranked 20th in the overall list.
