Brest resident slept in a car to receive per diems for accommodation
A 59-year-old and a 64-year-old employee of a state enterprise in Brest regularly traveled to Minsk and received per diems, including money for accommodation.
According to the Investigative Committee, the 59-year-old man traveled to Minsk 65 times over almost three years. In his reports, he stated that he rented an apartment daily, but in reality, he slept in a company car. He transferred part of the agreed sum to the apartment owner, and submitted fictitious documents for full payment to accounting.
His 64-year-old colleague acted similarly: he arranged for apartment rental but stayed with relatives.
In addition, he returned from business trips several times earlier than the specified term, appropriating unused per diems. As proof, he provided tickets with a later date, creating the impression that he had stayed in Minsk longer. According to the investigation, he acted this way on 16 business trips.
Investigators examined reporting documents, travel logs, and receipts. In total, the employees appropriated more than 19 thousand rubles.
Both defendants pleaded guilty and fully compensated for the damage caused.
The 64-year-old resident of Brest has been charged under Part 1, Article 211 of the Criminal Code (misappropriation of property entrusted to a person), and the 59-year-old — under Part 3, Article 211 of the Criminal Code (the same act, committed on a large scale).
