A shocking video of the death of Chinese tourists on Lake Baikal has appeared online.
The footage shows how a UAZ vehicle with passengers almost instantly went to the bottom, falling through an ice hole.
Eyewitnesses tried to help the tourists get out of the car. One passenger was managed to be given a rope – thanks to this, the man was able to get out and survived. The other eight people who were trapped inside the vehicle died. Among the victims is a 14-year-old girl.
As it turned out, the carrier was not officially registered and worked illegally, ignoring prohibitions on driving onto the ice in dangerous places.
