The director of the «Vygonoshchanskoye» reserve was fired. The situation with the wolf being killed with a stick came back to haunt him
It became known that, as of today, Siarhei Habets — the former director of the republican reserve «Vygonoshchanskoye» in the Ivatsevichy district — is no longer working. This is a direct continuation and result of the scandalous story that occurred in this reserve last autumn.

The story became known in mid-September. A video appeared online showing an employee of the «Vygonoshchanskoye» reserve killing a limping wolf cub with a stick in front of a child.
The video ended up on social networks after the man himself sent the recording to an acquaintance hunter.
At the time, the footage of the incident caused a stir: some commentators demanded the man be punished, while others believed the animal could have been dangerous and suffering from rabies.
The reserve's director, Siarhei Habets, stated that the employee acted correctly, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection promised to conduct an investigation.
The expertise showed that the wolf was not suffering from rabies.
It was later reported that the court fined the reserve employee, Aliaksandr Ivanou. The man appealed the decision in a higher court, and it was overturned.
Now it has become known that, as a result, the contract of the reserve director Siarhei Habets was not extended, and last week was his last in the position. Along with him, Aliaksandr Ivanou and several other employees also left their jobs at the reserve.
