According to Alexander Turchyn, Belarusian products continue to be in demand in the West, and Western business is allegedly dissatisfied with the decisions of European structures and is interested in cooperation with Belarus. Therefore, he urged diplomats to continue developing contacts and use any opportunities for cooperation.
Turchyn also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to persistently convey Minsk's position to European partners that the sanctions policy is a dead end, using alternative political ideas emerging in the European Union.
According to Eurostat data, trade between Belarus and the EU has significantly decreased since the introduction of sanctions for supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine. Belarus's purchases from the EU have halved since 2021, and the export of Belarusian goods to EU countries has decreased by more than 3.5 times.
