The Polish Ministry of the Interior commented on whether the resumption of railway traffic with Belarus is possible.
«The process of opening crossings went very smoothly,» but when can passenger trains between Poland and Belarus be expected?

Passenger trains from Poland to Belarus stopped running in March 2020. Initially, they were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, some rules were retained even after the epidemiological situation normalized. The Polish government then cited a growing threat of migration pressure, writes rynek-kolejowy.pl.
The publication notes that since then, relations with Minsk have remained strained not only due to illegal migration but also due to Belarus's cooperation with Russia. Despite this, significant changes recently occurred at the border: road crossings that had been inactive for many years were opened: Kuźnica — Bruzgi and Bobrowniki — Berastavitsa.
— In the Podlaskie Voivodeship, the process of opening crossings went very smoothly. We are not recording any incidents, — states the Media Service Department of the Ministry of Interior and Administration (MSWiA).
The relaxations in road transport also raise the question of a possible resumption of passenger traffic at the railway crossings Kuźnica — Hrodna and Terespol — Brest.
— This depends on a reduction in the threat of mass migration in this direction, — the ministry replies. — It is important to us that Belarusian services stop attacks and provocations on the technical infrastructure of the Polish state border, — added the ministry's press service.
The MSWiA says that the ongoing migration pressure is inspired and coordinated by the Belarusian side. It is also emphasized that the Belarusian authorities are supporting Russia in its aggression against Ukraine.
— Therefore, we cannot resume railway border traffic. For our ministry, the most important thing is the security of Poland and Poles, — noted the ministry.
