Belarusian pilots detained in Tunisia have left the country

Belarusian and Russian pilots, who were part of the Mi-26T helicopter crew, have left Tunisia. As reported by the Russian Embassy in Tunisia, this was made possible thanks to the assistance of the Tunisian authorities, who took the necessary measures for a swift resolution of the situation. The crew departed the country on the night of December 21-22.

On December 19, a helicopter with three Russian and two Belarusian citizens on board made a planned technical landing at Djerba Airport. Afterwards, the crew members were detained and spent several days in the airport's transit zone.

According to explanations from the Tunisian authorities, the reason for the detention was the absence of permission for further flight along the route.
