From January 1, 2026, a law introducing a simplified procedure for enforcement proceedings came into force in Belarus, reminds Onliner.by. Now, outstanding fines, including for traffic violations recorded by cameras, can be automatically debited from a bank account.
However, this procedure does not apply to everyone.
There are two conditions: the amount of the debt must not exceed 20 basic units — which is 900 rubles as of January 1, 2026, and the debtor must not have other monetary penalties.
At the same time, the person is given time to pay — within two months, the debt can be paid voluntarily: in the first month — pay at least 30% of the amount, in the second — close the debt in full. If this is not done, property seizure or temporary restriction of the right to drive a car is possible.
A mandatory levy is also provided for overdue payments — 10% of the debt amount, but not less than 0.5 basic units (22.5 rubles).
It is important to note that the court enforcement officer has the right to collect money not only from bank accounts, but also from deposits, savings in non-bank financial organizations, and electronic wallets.
