Iryna Bykava
"Vasil Bykau's wife has passed away. Iryna Mikhailovna, for decades, carried through life the memory, dignity, and truth about Vasil.
Her path is an example of quiet but strong love, loyalty, and human greatness. Such people do not seek attention, but it is precisely they who hold the world together.
I express my deepest condolences to her family, friends, and everyone who knew and cherished Iryna Mikhailovna. May her memory be bright," said the democratic leader.
The death of Iryna Bykava became known on January 21. She had recently turned 99, and shortly before that date, she was hospitalized with a hip fracture and a heart attack.
