Viktar Babaryka Responded to Mikita Mielkaziórau's Absentia Questions
Two years ago, in a video made for the 60th birthday of the then-imprisoned politician Viktar Babaryka, the author of the YouTube channel "Zhyccio-malina" Mikita Mielkaziórau formulated three questions for him. Today, on the fortieth day since Mikita Mielkaziórau's death, Babaryka published his answers to those questions on Facebook.

— How easy or difficult is it to maintain faith in people?
— Maintaining faith in people is easy if you understand that in any circumstances and environment, no matter where you find yourself, and where there are not very good or pleasant people around you, the number of these people is negligible. In comparison to the number of people you've been lucky enough to meet in life.
— How easy or difficult is it to maintain faith in Belarus?
— Maintaining faith in Belarus is also easy, because for me, Belarus is Belarusians. And they, for the most part, are sincere, kind, and not indifferent to other people. And this is despite the fact that today, many of them are going through torture for this kindness and respect.
— How easy or difficult is it not to break?
— Not breaking is harder. Because when you know nothing about what the world looks like and how it treats you, when you are told that you are needed by no one and everyone has forgotten about you, when everything around you testifies to this, then these are not physical but psychological tortures that are very unpleasant. However, the only way to overcome this is the understanding that knowing is not always important. Faith in what I answered in the first two questions plays a greater role.
The 37-year-old presenter of the popular YouTube channel "Zhyccio-malina" Mikita Mielkaziórau unexpectedly died on the night of December 20-21, 2025.
