A website-archive with translations by Vasil Siomukha has been created
A dedicated internet page has appeared online, devoted to the creative legacy of the renowned Belarusian translator Vasil Siomukha (1936—2019) — Vasilsiomucha.com .
The electronic archive of translations is available for free non-commercial downloading and reading, writes bellit.info.
Vasil Siomukha is one of the greatest translators in the history of Belarusian literature, explain the project authors. He translated the Bible, works by Goethe, Nietzsche, Hermann Hesse, Thomas Mann, Patrick Süskind, and many other classics of world literature into Belarusian.
His translations are distinguished by unparalleled mastery and a deep understanding of both the original texts and the richness of the Belarusian language.
Website visitors will find a collection of Vasil Siomukha's translations in electronic format, the author's biography, a photo gallery, and publications. All books are available for free non-commercial downloading. The page is available in three languages: Belarusian, English, and Russian.
"We hope that this project will help preserve and popularize the invaluable cultural heritage of Vasil Siomukha for future generations," say the authors of the archive website.
The launch of the dedicated website is timed to coincide with Vasil Siomukha's 90th birthday (January 18).
