The democratic leader spoke today at the Coordination Council hearings.

"I won't name any global political mistakes, because we worked in a very limited space, and no one ever knows what will be a mistake and what won't, until you try it," said Belarusian democratic leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya on February 7 in Warsaw, answering questions during hearings at the Coordination Council, as reported by "Pozirk".
At the same time, the politician called the "Peramoha" plan a mistake (the creation of a network of activists who, at a certain moment, would receive instructions for active actions against the regime of Alexander Lukashenka). The politician stated that "many expectations were placed" on this plan, but they did not materialize.
Among "political or public" mistakes, Tsikhanouskaya named the fact that they "possibly didn't work enough with Lithuanian society."
"We thought that Lithuanians knew everything, Lithuanians understood everything, and that the narratives promoted by some parliamentarians and amplified by propaganda narratives weren't working. But they were working all this time," noted the democratic leader.
According to her, the narrative about so-called "Litvinism" became the reason why "Lithuanians in Lithuania started to treat Belarusians somewhat negatively."
"Of course, all this time we tried to rectify this, held numerous round tables, consultations, and publicly spoke in the media. But our resources were not enough to fight this huge propaganda machine," the politician admitted.
Another mistake, "for which political structures are not responsible," Tsikhanouskaya considers the fact that in the Belarusian public movement, some discussions turn into public quarrels. This, in her opinion, affects the general mood, because "more attention is focused around some minor conflicts between organizations or individuals."
"We lose focus. And, of course, I would like us not to lose sight of our goal and to concentrate our energy not around disputes, but around work," summarized the democratic leader.
The creation of the "Peramoha" plan became known in 2021. For participants who wished to continue the fight against Lukashenka's regime, the "Bypol" association promised to send out mobilization orders for specific actions. It was assumed that the protests within the plan would be active in nature. In August 2025, "Bypol" announced the closure of the plan until "further notice."
