«The short video clearly shows the graceful movements of two wild cats. The larger lynx moves confidently, constantly controlling the situation. Such behavior is characteristic of a mother who continues to care for and teach her grown-up cub survival skills in the forest», — states the message.
These shots help scientists better study the life and family relationships of these cautious animals. Experts are confident: lynxes are comfortable in Belovezhskaya Pushcha; here they can not only survive but also reproduce.
The lynx is included in the Red Book of Belarus (Category IV), although limited hunting is now permitted for it. Camera trap materials help monitor the species' status in the country.
