Russian drone interceptor "Molot" being tested in Belarus

In early February, tests of 59 different drone countermeasures systems began in the country. The trials involve means of detecting, suppressing, and destroying UAVs. According to the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, more than 80% of the presented samples are of Belarusian production. Among foreign developments, the Russian "Molot" complex from Nova Labs company has been cleared for testing, writes "Militarnyi" publication.

What is "Molot"?

The complex consists of two parts: a reusable launcher and an interceptor drone.

The launcher is designed as a tube with handles, a stock, and a sight. Its length in combat position is about 70-80 cm, and its mass is several kilograms.

The interceptor itself is a small UAV in a cylindrical body with an infrared homing head. Inside are control systems, a battery, and a warhead. Its launch mass is up to 1.5-2 kg. The drone takes off vertically, can hover, and move horizontally.

Maximum flight speed — up to 50 m/s. The operating range depends on the target type:

  • large aircraft-type UAVs — up to 1 km,
  • copters with a diameter of 500-700 mm — 350-400 m,
  • operating altitude — up to 200 m.

To defeat the target, a high-explosive warhead weighing about 500 g is used. Detonation upon contact or when flying near the target is possible. Kinetic interception — a direct hit — is also provided.

Updated Version

The manufacturer states that the new modification is capable of destroying targets at an altitude of up to 2 km at speeds up to 200 km/h. The complex is offered in portable and stationary versions.

The portable version features a thermal imaging guidance system and 100 mm caliber ammunition with speeds up to 265 km/h.

The stationary version is equipped with radio command or laser guidance, has a range of up to 3.5 km, and a projectile speed of up to 360 km/h.

Забіся "Молатам", уже такое было. Но Гитлер не предъявлял в Академии наук немецким ученым, что они дармоеды. И они выдавали перлы: самолеты, танк, стрелковое оружие.
