EU intends to demand withdrawal of troops from Belarus in negotiations with Russia
Within the framework of a possible peace agreement on Ukraine, the European Union plans to present Russia with a series of tough conditions. As reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, this concerns a discussion document circulated by the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, among representatives of EU member states.

In a document titled "Europe's Core Interests in Ensuring Comprehensive, Just, and Lasting Peace and Security on the Continent," Brussels outlines its position on what Moscow must do.
Among the demands is the withdrawal of Russian troops not only from the territory of Ukraine, but also from Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, and Transnistria.
In addition, the EU insists on the payment of reparations to Ukraine, the demilitarization of occupied territories, the refusal of their legal recognition, and the cessation of hybrid attacks against European countries.
A separate section is dedicated to internal political changes in Russia. The European Union demands free elections under international observation, the release of political prisoners, the return of deported citizens, the abolition of the "foreign agents" law, and assistance in investigating the murders of Alexei Navalny and Boris Nemtsov.
Brussels emphasizes that European security is impossible without the EU's participation in negotiations. In this regard, the creation of a position for a special representative of the European Union for relations with Russia is being considered. Some of the proposals may be discussed by EU foreign ministers on February 23.
It is noted, however, that Moscow currently rejects key points of a possible agreement, including the issue of reparations and the deployment of foreign forces in western Ukraine.
