«It's time to stop this war profiteering». Croatia refused to transport Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia, but is ready to help with other oil
Croatia has rejected a request from Hungary and Slovakia to transport Russian oil, Croatian Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar said on February 16, The Kyiv Independent reports .

Earlier the same day, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó reported that Budapest and Bratislava had asked Croatia for help in securing Russian oil supplies via the Adria pipeline due to transit disruptions through Ukraine.
Ante Šušnjar stated that Zagreb "will not allow" Central Europe's fuel supply to be "threatened" and is ready to help resolve the issue in accordance with EU law and OFAC (U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control) regulations.
According to the minister, EU countries no longer have any "technical excuses" for remaining dependent on Russian oil.
«A barrel purchased from Russia may seem cheaper to some countries, but it helps finance the war and attacks on the Ukrainian people. It's time to stop this war profiteering,» Šušnjar said.
Earlier, Szijjártó, together with Slovak Economy Minister Denisa Saková, sent a letter to Ante Šušnjar, noting that the sanctions exemption for their countries "provides an opportunity to import Russian oil by sea if pipeline supplies are disrupted."
«The security of a country's energy supply should never be an ideological issue,» the Hungarian minister said. «Therefore, we expect that Croatia, unlike Ukraine, will not jeopardize the security of oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia for political reasons.»
