The film tells the story of Nadya, a successful ENT doctor who turns 40 and suddenly realizes that she knows almost nothing about herself. She helps patients daily, but seems to have stopped listening to her own feelings. Her husband left her two years ago, and her relationship with her teenage daughter is becoming increasingly strained. The protagonist seeks change to once again feel joy and love for life. Along with her, viewers are invited to go through six unique "lessons of tenderness" and learn to understand themselves better.

The film stars Karina Razumovskaya, Artyom Tkachenko, Alisa Konashenkova, and other well-known Russian actors. Ivan Kitaev directed the adaptation, and Daria Gratsevich wrote the screenplay.

Olga Primachenko herself will also appear in the film in a small cameo as an apartment buyer. She admitted that filming was a difficult and exciting experience for her: speaking lines in front of a large film crew turned out to be not easy. According to her, the acting profession requires great talent and the ability to quickly embody different characters, and this experience helped her to appreciate the work of actors and the director with even greater respect.

Additionally, the writer voiced a therapeutic podcast "Tender to Self" for the film, which, according to the plot, the main characters listen to.

The book "Tender to Self," written in 2020 based on the author's personal experience, addresses themes of self-acceptance, one's feelings and boundaries, and the ability to care for one's own inner state. The publication became one of the top five most popular non-fiction books, and the total circulation of all versions exceeded three million copies.
