According to the CEC, Lukashenka garnered 82.6% of the votes. Milinkevich — 6%, Haidukevich — 3.5%, Kazulin — 2.3%. People disagreeing with the election results, on Sunday evening, went to Kastrychnitskaya Square. According to various estimates, between 10 and 30 thousand protesters gathered there on the evening of March 19.

That evening, there was a strong blizzard. The rally concluded with a procession to Victory Square and the laying of flowers there.

And the next day, March 20, the youth decided to stay on the Square and set up tents (their number eventually grew to three dozen), and people formed a tight circle around the tents. They demanded the resignation of Lukashenka and the government.

The camp lasted three days. Initially, those who brought food and clothing to the participants, as well as those leaving the Square, were detained.

The tent camp (named Kalinouski Square) lasted until the night of March 24, until it was destroyed by security forces at 4 AM.

Around 300 people were detained and sent for days to Akrestina and Zhodzina.

A clear-out also took place on March 25. The procession led by Aliaksandr Kazulin (its participants were heading to Akrestina) was dispersed. Kazulin himself was detained and convicted on criminal charges.
