Macron: France Now Provides Two Thirds of Intelligence Information for Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that his country currently provides about two-thirds of Ukraine's intelligence capabilities to counter Russian aggression. He said this during a speech to military personnel at the Istres-Le Tubé air base.

According to Macron, French services coordinate and provide Ukrainian troops with the intelligence information necessary for planning offensive operations and defense.

"While a year ago Ukraine was almost entirely dependent on U.S. intelligence capabilities, today two-thirds of these capabilities are provided by France. The signal we are sending to our Ukrainian partners, other Europeans, and the whole world is that we are ready. We are ready to support these resistance efforts. We are ready to deter new aggressions or ensure peace on our land," said the French president.

In March 2024, the U.S. temporarily suspended deliveries of military aid and intelligence data to Ukraine. Later, the Pentagon continued to exchange information aiding defense but limited data that could be used for offensive operations. French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu then stated that France was ready to provide Ukraine with intelligence data after the temporary suspension by the U.S.

Intelligence from the U.S. allows Ukraine to timely detect flights of Russian bombers, warn of ballistic threats, adjust HIMARS systems, and accurately strike targets deep within Russian territory.
