The logo for the Year of Belarusian Woman has been determined in Belarus, Belta reported Olga Shpilevich, chairwoman of the Belarusian Women's Union.
It is reported that the Belarusian Women's Union initiated a competition for the creation of a logo soon after Lukashenka announced the theme for 2026.
"We wanted to see how girls and women envision this logo, how they imagine it. Everyone could draw their own variant, based on intuition and feelings. We did not set any parameters for this. We believed that Belarusian women themselves should propose the symbol for the current year," said Olga Shpilevskaya.
The competition was held among all regional, unified, and primary organizations of the Belarusian Women's Union. More than 100 different variants were submitted.
The winner of the competition was Yauhenia Pahranichnaya, leader of the youth wing of the Vaukavysk district organization of the Belarusian Women's Union. She is a photographer, who has previously presented several of her own photo exhibitions. She loves to photograph family and women.
According to Olga Shpilevskaya, the choice in favor of Yauhenia Pahranichnaya's work was unanimous.
"Everyone agreed that this variant has it all: the symbolism of the country — red and green tones, ornament, and the cornflower — a symbol of Belarus and the BWU, and, of course, the image of the Belarusian woman, in which lightness and strength, kindness and beauty are read," explained the chairwoman of the Belarusian Women's Union.
