Haiti's national team uniform caused a real sensation at the Winter Olympics. But it was almost banned
Although Haiti will be represented by only two athletes at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, it will be hard to miss them at the opening ceremony — the internet is already eagerly awaiting their appearance. But such a stir might not have happened: the first version of the uniform was not approved by the International Olympic Committee, writes Telegraf.news.

When thinking of Haiti, winter sports, skiing, and snow are the last things that come to mind. But these stereotypes did not prevent the Caribbean nation from sending its representatives to the Winter Olympic Games. These are only the second Winter Games for Haiti, represented by skiers Richardson Viano and Stevenson Savard. And although the team is small, it will certainly be remembered — if not for its achievements, then for its stylish appearance.
