«Sometimes I want to get drunk so my head spins». Turchyn brought Lukashenka a can of snus to the meeting
During today's meeting between Lukashenka and the leadership of the Council of Ministers, the issue of strengthening the licensing of electronic cigarette trade and other related problems was discussed. Head of government Alexander Turchyn brought Lukashenka visual material for this meeting — a can of snus, made from moist tobacco.
The following dialogue took place between Lukashenka and Turchyn on this occasion:
Lukashenka: And what, you put it under your tongue?
Turchyn: And you get a dose of nicotine,
— So your head spins?
— Yes, yes, yes.
— Interesting. Sometimes I want to get drunk so my head spins and not receive information from the governor of Grodno region that his calves are dying.
During this conversation, Lukashenka persistently tried to open the can, but he couldn't. Turchyn offered help, but Lukashenka didn't accept it — saying he wasn't going to put the product under his tongue anyway for now. To Turchyn's remark that the product helps to calm down, he reacted:
«And does it calm you down? The main thing is that you don't start calming yourself down with this already».
Specifically on the topic of electronic cigarettes, Lukashenka said:
«I generally don't know much about smoking, just like with alcohol. Therefore, I would like specialists, who either smoke or have delved into this topic, to explain what it is. They say it's worse than tobacco. We will listen and make an appropriate decision.
The most important thing is — I am a categorical opponent of both alcohol and smoking. But smoking — that's a horror. Well, you drank 100 grams... Who doesn't drink? People drink. But smoking — that destroys one's health, when doctors already know for sure that the primary cause of lung cancer is smoking. We will try to find a balance».
