An emergency occurred in the Vitebsk Emergency Hospital — a pipe burst, resulting in the entire operating block of the hospital being flooded. In addition, the reception room and some wards, where patients were located, were flooded with water, reports the association of independent medics "White Coats" with reference to their sources.
It is noted that after the water started to pour out, it was impossible to find the location of the burst and prevent the accident for several hours. The damage is estimated as "very large" — some expensive equipment, including laparoscopic stands and ventilators (IVL), X-ray equipment, as well as part of the prosthetic supplies, is beyond repair.
It is expected that Iryna Abelskaya will arrive for an inspection on Monday.
"White Coats" reminds that this is not the first such emergency in this hospital: on January 21, 2021, on the third floor of the surgical building after a pipe burst, water poured from the ceiling. Water also poured for several hours until the plumber fixed the problem.
