Red caviar will be produced in the Mahilioŭ region, but not for eating
A unique production of commercial red caviar will soon begin in the Mahilioŭ region, based on the "Lokhva" farm. However, according to Aliaksandr Varapaieu, head of the economy committee of the Mahilioŭ Regional Executive Committee, the caviar will be used not for food, but for breeding trout, writes Office Life.

The new complex has already been completed and is being introduced into full production cycle. As Varapaieu noted, "caviar will not be eaten by the spoonful," because its purpose is a product for fish breeding. The first information about the creation of such a complex in Cherykau was announced back in 2023.
Earlier, it was planned to open farms for breeding valuable fish species in the Khotsimsk, Cherykavsk, and Krasnapolsk districts by the end of 2025. The largest of the complexes will allow obtaining up to a thousand tons of trout per year and will be unique in that the fish are planned to be grown from their own fry.
The project is being implemented by "Rybhas Paluz" UE, a "daughter" of the "Lokhva" farm. The farms are expected to reach industrial volumes by 2027, but the first catches are anticipated already in 2026. In July last year, the government allocated a subsidy to the "Lokhva" farm to repay interest on loans.
