The United States is reportedly very close to deciding on a large-scale military operation against Iran, and it could begin in the near future. This is reported by the Axios portal, citing sources, writes "European Pravda."

According to the publication's sources, the Donald Trump administration is close to a decision on a large-scale armed operation against Iran, which will be closer to a full-scale war than a lightning-fast and "surgical" operation in Venezuela.
This will likely be a joint campaign with Israel, significantly larger than the "12-day war" in June 2025, when the US struck Iran's underground nuclear facilities.
Trump was close to a decision on strikes against Iran already in early January, observing the bloody crackdown on protesters. However, after that, the administration switched to a "dual tactic" — attempts at negotiations with Tehran on its nuclear program parallel to increasing military presence in the region. Now it does not seem that the negotiations will lead to the desired outcome for the US.
Two aircraft carriers, a dozen warships, hundreds of fighter jets, and numerous air defense systems are already near Iran. In the last 24 hours alone, about 50 more fighter jets have been sent to the Middle East.
Some sources in the US say that a lot more time is needed to prepare the operation. However, one advisor claims that Trump is already "running out of patience," despite warnings from some team members, and gives "90% probability" that the operation will begin in the coming weeks.
By Tuesday, another round of US-Iran talks took place in Geneva. The Iranian Foreign Minister subsequently declared the "beginning of the path to an agreement" between the countries.
